As some of you may have noticed, I went a little quiet during the past few weeks. Really, I have no excuse for that. I do apologize, and I hope to be more responsible about it in the future. On the bright side, my holidays were pretty grand. How were yours?

While I’m not exactly the type of person to make resolutions each year, one of my goals for this year is to improve on my Korean. Growing up with a Korean mother, I was lucky enough to learn a bit as a child. As a result, even if I forgot most of my vocabulary, I was left with a somewhat convincing accent. During my time in Korea, I’ve improved quite a bit, though not as much as I should have.

Sadly, one aspect of the Korean language I’ve always had trouble with is spelling. As some readers have pointed out in my past comics, my writing in general is quite atrocious. Each time I’m left feeling dumb for making such simple mistakes, I can’t help but sympathize with many students I’ve seen that struggle while trying to learn English. While some people may have a gift for it, I think it’s safe to say that learning another language isn’t exactly the easiest thing in the world.

Still, here’s hoping I manage to get significantly better this year. I’d at least like to get to a point where I can translate my own comics (so I don’t have to bribe kids to do it for me).
